Lake Lewisville, TX.- Central Open, Trail

Click on the above link for tournament standings......

Here is a good spot I was fishing during practice and the two days of the tournament. I fished the entire bank at the end of this trail. I had one good bite on Day 1, my only fish. I ran up this river beyond the bridge and fished tight to the bank and pitched timber. I started there because of cold weather that blew in. I figured the banks would hold some heat. I caught several during practice. I moved back out after the wind died down and the sun came out a little. Still no bites on Day2. I dropped down to 101st place. I was wanting to stay shallow and catch a couple large female cruising the buck brush and banks. I only need a couple large females for a paycheck. The tournament was won on a jerkbait on suspended fish 10'-15'

I made this trail on Saturday while I was waiting for the welding shop to put a new spindle on my trailer. I ran out of Little Elm park all the days of practice, I showed the ramp in an earlier google earth post.

I caught 3 bass on my custom bullfrog flipping to the base of buck brush, and also caught three flipping a Yum papi craw, blue/ brown. All other bass were caught using large Trokar Flipping hooks. My only bass of the tournament came on my bullfrog. If it had only warmed up enough for the big girls to move up I could have had much better results.

My next stop is Table Rock.....I'm forfeiting my $500 deposit for Lake Norman, Southern Open, I just can't afford the balance and expenses, I also don't have anyone to watch my dogs and house for two weeks after the loss of my best friend of many years and roommate. He was a good friend, he just couldn't deal with his dad dying. I'll miss him being around. He was always there when I needed help. A true friend!

I think I'm going to fish Bass Champs Dodge Megatruck Big Bass tournament on Lake Fork......you're just one cast away from a new truck, I need one of those too.
